I have such mixed feelings about Sundays.

Part of me loves them because Sundays are meant for slowing down. You don’t have to rush. You don’t feel guilty for being lazy. You can sleep a little later, run a few errands if you want, or just sit around and do absolutely nothing.

But then there’s the other side of Sunday.

It means Monday is coming, and real life starts all over again. The weekend is over, the structure comes back, and it’s time to get back to work. I’ve never really been a fan of Mondays, but they come whether we’re ready or not.

This weekend wasn’t anything wild, but it was a good one.

Friday we took my little Pomeranian, Ming Ming, back to the vet. Thankfully, he’s doing so much better, and I am so grateful for that. He still has his trachea issues, and that’s probably something we’ll manage for the rest of his life. What I don’t understand is that when he was really sick, he barely coughed at all. Now that he’s feeling better, the coughing is back. I don’t pretend to understand it, so I’ll leave that to the vets. I’m just thankful my little guy is doing okay.

Saturday was pretty simple. We ran a few errands, tried a new restaurant for dinner, and then came home. Nothing exciting, just one of those nice, laid-back days.

This week is going to be busy. Every single day I’ve got something planned. Sometimes I love staying busy, and sometimes I wish I had absolutely nothing on my calendar. I guess it just depends on the day.

Next weekend is Elliot’s birthday party, and then on August 3rd it’s my birthday. I still think it’s pretty special that I share my birthday with my first grandchild. I don’t know many people who get to say that, and I love it.

One thing that’s been on my mind lately is this whole social media journey I’ve been on.

I’ve been working at it off and on since January. It took me forever to find someone who could actually teach me instead of just doing everything for me, and I think I’ve finally found that.

Facebook has always been my comfort zone. I’ve had the same account since 2008 or 2009, and those people have been with me forever. They know me, they interact with me, and I love that.

Instagram, on the other hand… bless its heart. 😂

I’ve got a little over 2,000 followers, and while I’m thankful for every single one of them, I can’t figure out why my views don’t translate into followers. I’ve had videos reach more than 162,000 views. Others have hit 25,000, 10,000, 7,000, and 5,000.

People are watching.

They’re just not following.

That’s the part that drives me crazy.

What’s even stranger is that people stop me all the time when I’m out or they’ll message me and say, “Oh my gosh, we love your videos! You’re so funny!”

Well… if you love them so much, throw me a like every now and then! Leave me a comment! Hit that follow button! 😂

Social media is funny like that. Sometimes it feels like you’re talking to yourself, and then you realize people have been watching the whole time.

I guess that’s just part of the process.

I really do believe that what’s meant to happen will happen. As long as I stay consistent, keep showing up, keep learning, and keep putting myself out there, the rest will eventually fall into place.

Today will probably be pretty low-key. I’m thinking about getting my nails and toes done, running a couple more errands, and then calling it a day.

Elliot and Sloane are in Dallas visiting their GiGi, so the house is a little quieter than usual.

And before I go, I have one more exciting update… at least exciting if you’re as weird as I am. 😂

I absolutely love true crime shows. Give me 20/20, 48 Hours, Dateline, Oxygen… I’ll watch every one of them. Friday nights are usually reruns, and I’ve seen so many episodes that I can almost tell you how they’re going to end before they do.

But this Friday… I actually got to watch one I’d never seen before!

It’s funny the little things that make us happy as we get older. Twenty years ago I would’ve been excited about going out on a Friday night. Now I’m excited because I found a brand-new episode of 48 Hours.

And honestly… I’m perfectly okay with that. ❤️
