I Tried On 32 Outfits—and I’m So Proud of Myself
Y’all, it is midnight, I’m sitting in my bed completely exhausted, and I just had one of those moments where I thought, “Wow. I did good today.”
And I mean, I did really good.
Tonight, I tried on 32 outfits, two purses, and nine pairs of shoes. And believe it or not, I still have about nine more outfits sitting there waiting for me—but I finally hit my limit. I had nothing left to give. 😂
We got the lighting set up in my living room, Welton helped me get everything ready, and then I went to work. And y’all, when I started looking through the pictures afterward, I surprised myself.
I kept thinking, “Damn, Tammy—you did good!”
The lighting looked good. The clothes looked good. I looked good. And for the first time, I could actually see that I’m getting better at this.
I have so much content now, and honestly, I want to put every single outfit on the Internet tomorrow because I think they’re all adorable. But I know that’s not how this works. You do the try-on, create the content, and then space it out over time.
So now I have to practice something I’m not always very good at: patience. I’ll have to pick a couple of looks each day instead of throwing all 32 of them at y’all at once. 😂
But let me tell you something: when people say influencers have it made and that this is such an easy job, they have no idea how much work goes on behind the scenes.
I’m not even a big influencer, and this has completely consumed me.
There’s the shopping, ordering, returning, styling, steaming, changing clothes, choosing shoes, switching accessories, setting up the lighting, taking pictures, filming videos, checking the pictures, editing everything, finding links, and then finally posting it all.
It is a lot of freaking work.
And if I’m being completely honest, I haven’t found my balance yet.
I haven’t posted much jewelry this past week. I haven’t shared some of the other things I’ve been wanting to show y’all. I haven’t written on my blog in several days. I have been completely consumed with learning how to do this.
But I know I’ll find the balance.
Eventually, I’ll figure out how to make room for the fashion, the jewelry, the blog, the business, and everything else I love. Right now, I’m still learning—and learning something new always feels a little messy in the beginning.
The good news is that I actually had fun tonight.
Yes, it was exhausting. Yes, I’m lying here completely dead. Yes, I still have nine outfits waiting for me, and I’m sure I have even more packages on the way.
At this point, I have officially lost track of what I’ve ordered.
I’m quite certain my credit card has not lost track, but I definitely have. 😂
This is new for me. It’s challenging, it’s time-consuming, and some days it makes me question what in the world I’ve gotten myself into.
But tonight, I’m not focusing on everything I still need to do.
Tonight, I’m letting myself be proud.
I tried something new. I kept going even when it felt overwhelming. I’m learning. I’m improving. And when I looked through those pictures tonight, I could finally see the progress for myself.
So yes, y’all—I’m tired.
But I’m also really proud of myself.
I did good.
