Tammy’s Tech Journey

Y’all, I know some of you are gonna laugh because this probably seems like the easiest thing in the world… but for me, this is a HUGE accomplishment.

If you know me, you know I am not a technology person. I own a computer, but let’s be honest… it’s basically a shipping machine. 😂 The only thing I use it for is shipping jewelry, and half the time I mess something up and poor Welton has to come rescue me. He’ll tell you that’s 100% true!

A few weeks ago, I made a post asking for help, and a girl I went to high school with reached out. Her daughter now comes to my house twice a week from 3:00 to 6:00 and teaches me everything. Y’all… I cannot even explain how much I’ve learned.

Today she helped me embed my ShopMy collections into my blog, and I actually got emotional. I know that probably sounds silly, but I’ve spent months hiring different companies to help me, and honestly… I was disappointed almost every single time. If they said they’d do something, it didn’t get done. If they did do it, it usually wasn’t how I wanted it.

Welton finally told me, “Tammy, you need to learn this yourself so you never have to depend on anyone else.”

And he was right.

Will it take me longer? Absolutely. What takes someone else 20 minutes will probably take me three hours because I’m a perfectionist. 😂 But you know what? It’ll be MY work. I’ll understand it, I’ll be proud of it, and nobody can let me down.

So here’s why I’m so excited…

This is the FIRST video I’ve ever filmed directly inside Instagram!

I know some of y’all are thinking, “Girl… that’s not a big deal.”

But to me? It’s a giant milestone.

Now I finally understand why people say, “Wait! My time’s running out!” or “Hold on, I have to start over!” I never knew because I’d always record videos on my phone first and then upload them later.

This feels like such a small step to some people, but it’s a HUGE step for me.

So today, I’m celebrating the little wins. 🥹👏

Y’all clap for me… because this old grandma is officially learning new tricks, and I am SO proud of myself!
