Finding My Balance

Well… I totally dropped the ball on my blog today.

But let me tell y’all something… this content creator life is hard work.

I think I’m going to have to find a happy balance because if you know me, you know I don’t do anything halfway. I go all in. I go 100 miles an hour, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.

I’ve been posting six or seven videos a day, trying to learn how to edit videos, writing blogs, posting on two Facebook pages, two Instagram accounts, two TikToks, trying to keep up with my ShopMy account… and somewhere in all of that, I forgot the whole reason I started this journey.

My jewelry.

I haven’t even been posting much about it because I’ve been so wrapped up trying to learn everything else. Then, on top of all that, I still have to come up with new content every single day.

Now don’t get me wrong… yesterday with Rosie was an absolute blast. I laughed so hard, and I honestly think we’re going to make some hilarious content together. I just have to figure out how to film it better and learn all these editing tricks.

And speaking of figuring things out…

A lot of y’all have probably noticed my videos aren’t exactly filmed in some gorgeous influencer house. There’s a reason for that.

We were supposed to build a house in Cane Island, so we moved into this little rental house right down the street while we waited. Then everything fell apart. Looking back, I truly believe everything happens for a reason because not long after that, Welton lost his job. Well… technically, he didn’t work for six months. Let’s be honest—he didn’t even look for a job! Instead, we traveled, made memories, and honestly had a great time.

Did I hate losing the house? Absolutely.

But it also made me realize I really want to live closer to my kids anyway. So maybe life had a different plan all along.

That being said… this little rental house is TINY.

Our furniture is way too big, so almost all of it is in storage. All of my decorations are in storage. Half the time I’m using garage shelving because that’s what fits. It’s definitely not the glamorous background you see from a lot of creators, but it’s real life.

And that’s okay.

I’m going to get better. I promise.

My videos will get better. My editing will get better. My setup will get better. I’ll eventually have the space I want. Right now, I’m just learning as I go.

Yesterday proved one thing, though…

I have officially worn myself out.

By six o’clock last night, Welton and I were watching Silo, and I crawled over, laid my head on his shoulder, and I was OUT. I woke up long enough to crawl into bed, fell asleep again, and didn’t wake up until after nine this morning.

Apparently, I needed it.

So I think it’s time to stop trying to be perfect.

Maybe I don’t need six or seven videos a day. Maybe I just need to create a little every day, keep learning, keep improving, and enjoy the process instead of trying to master everything overnight.

Because at the end of the day, this journey is supposed to be fun.

Tomorrow is going to be crazy because I canceled all my errands today, which means they all got pushed to tomorrow. And Elliott’s birthday party is Saturday… and I still haven’t even bought her a present!

Actually… don’t get me started on buying presents for two-year-olds. That’s probably going to have to be tomorrow’s blog because I have some thoughts.

For now, I’m going to drink another Diet Dr Pepper, meet with my social media girl this afternoon, work on the Rosie videos, and keep learning one step at a time.

Progress over perfection.

Thanks for hanging in there with me while I figure all of this out. I promise it’s only going to get better from here.
