My Rosie Posie ❤️

Y’all see Rosie pop up in my videos all the time, but I don’t think I’ve ever told y’all how she became such a huge part of my life.

First of all… Rosie is not just my housekeeper.

She’s my assistant, my shipper, my life coach, my therapist, my partner in crime, my voice of reason… she’s pretty much everything.

The only thing she is NOT… is my driver.

Now, Rosie thinks she can drive. She has a driver’s license. She owns a car. She legally drives every day.

But I am absolutely NOT riding with her. 😂

I’ve ridden with her a couple of times in my life, and both were the rides of terror. Never again.

Now, I will admit there have been a few parties over the years where I’d had a couple of drinks and needed a ride home. Y’all know better than to drink and drive, so I let Rosie drive.

Out of necessity.

I closed my eyes the entire ride home… and somehow I could STILL tell she was driving badly because I was fussing at her with my eyes closed. 😂

Our story goes all the way back to before my son Jake was born… and Jake is 32 years old now.

My ex-husband was a general contractor, and one of his workers knew Rosie. Back then she’d just come to the United States from Mexico with practically nothing. She had one set of clothes that she wore every single day, and she wouldn’t even use my towels. She’d dry off with her T-shirt because she didn’t want to mess up my towels.

She worked for me Monday through Friday, and back then she didn’t speak English and I didn’t speak Spanish.

Thank goodness for my mama.

My mama spoke fluent Spanish, so anytime something important came up, I’d call her and she’d translate for us. Eventually Rosie learned enough English, I learned enough Spanish, and together we invented our own language…

Spanglish.

Somehow it worked. 😂

Rosie absolutely adored Jake.

I’ll never forget one day when he was just a tiny baby. Somehow the soft spot on his head looked like it had sunk in, and I completely lost my mind. I was screaming and crying because every new mom hears how careful you have to be with a baby’s soft spot.

Rosie came running, took Jake out of my arms, flipped him upside down by one leg, patted the bottom of his feet, turned him back over, handed him to me, and went right back to work like nothing had happened.

Meanwhile… I was standing there wondering what in the world had just happened.

Jake was perfectly fine.

I, however, needed therapy. 😂

Since I was Rosie’s very first house, I got to train her exactly the way I liked things.

And let me tell y’all…

Back then I was obsessive.

Everything had a place.

My furniture looked like it belonged in a magazine.

Nothing was ever out of place.

If you stopped by my house on a Tuesday, you’d think nobody even lived there.

Then Rosie met Marcel.

I could tell she was in love. She started coming in a little later, leaving a little earlier…

And I knew.

Sure enough, she got pregnant.

She moved closer to Channelview where Marcel worked in the plants, and I was absolutely heartbroken when she left.

Life went on.

I hired someone else.

She was sweet…

But she wasn’t Rosie.

We lost touch for years.

Then one day I found out Rosie was working at Chili’s in Channelview. I drove all the way over there just to see her.

It was like we’d never missed a day.

Then life got busy again.

I went through some really hard years.

I moved to China.

Time slipped away.

Almost twelve years later, I found her on Facebook.

By then she had two beautiful kids, Andres and Josie.

And just like before…

We picked up exactly where we left off.

For the last twelve years, she’s been right back where she belongs.

In my life.

Now don’t get me wrong…

She used to be the best housekeeper on the planet.

I’m talking baseboards, ceiling fans, walls… spotless.

Nowadays…

Let’s just say she has “expanded her job description.” 😂

She’s too busy helping me with a hundred other things to worry about my baseboards, and honestly, I’d rather have her by my side than have perfect baseboards anyway.

Watching her life over the last three decades has been one of the greatest blessings.

She came here with absolutely nothing.

She worked hard.

She became a citizen the right way.

She saved her money.

She bought her own beautiful home.

And I couldn’t be more proud of her.

These days, if you see us together, we’re basically sisters.

Sometimes people hear the way we joke with each other and they probably think, “That woman is fixing to get canceled.”

What they don’t know is…

Y’all should hear how Rosie talks to ME. 😂

We pick on each other nonstop.

That’s just us.

When I started creating content, I knew there was no way I could leave Rosie out of it.

We’re simply too funny together.

The problem is… the funniest things always happen when the camera ISN’T rolling.

The first day we filmed together, we tested bathroom gadgets, cleaning gadgets, and all kinds of random stuff.

Every single video was hilarious…

But somehow the funniest moments happened in between takes.

So now we’ve got a new plan.

Two cameras.

One on Rosie.

One on me.

Because from now on, we’re catching ALL the chaos.

I even bought us matching aprons, and we’re getting them monogrammed.

I still haven’t figured out what to call our little series, but whatever we call it, I promise it’ll be entertaining.

And here’s my favorite part…

When Rosie bought her new house, she made sure it had an extra bedroom.

Do y’all know why?

Because she says when I get old, I’m moving in with her, and she’s going to take care of me.

Now let’s be honest…

If my three kids and Rosie are all applying for the job…

Rosie’s getting hired. 😂

Matter of fact, I might just leave everything to Rosie.

If my kids are good to me when I’m old, she can share a little with them.

If they’re not…

Sorry, kids.

Y’all should’ve tried harder.

Although…

Now that I think about it…

This whole “extra bedroom” thing might actually be a setup. 🤣❤️
